Tensión y violencia crecientes, en un thriller con visos de western que luce una sequedad y una progresión dramática implacables.

 

Cetarti (Daniel Hendler) llega a un pueblito perdido del Chaco para reconocer los cuerpos de su madre y su hermano recientemente asesinados por el que fuera pareja de ella en ese momento. Duarte (Leonardo Sabaraglia), un suboficial retirado amigo y albacea del asesino, es quien convoca a Cetarti para ese reconocimiento, hacerse cargo de sus bienes y cobrar un seguro de vida.

 

Lo que sigue es un relato cada vez más negro, basado en la novela Bajo este sol tremendo, de Carlos Busqued: Cetarti, desocupado y habiendo cortado los vínculos con su familia mucho tiempo atrás, sólo parece interesado en juntar dinero. Duarte procura también lucrar con la situación, pero la trama nos va introduciendo además en sus actividades delictivas, contando para ellas con la complicidad de Daniel, el hijo del occiso. 

Es notable la precisión con que Israel Adrián Caetano pinta los distintos escenarios y a sus personajes y la sequedad con que se van desarrollando y resolviendo las situaciones. A medida que transcurre, el relato va acumulando extraña mezcla de calma, tensión y violencia, de tal modo que este thriller, por sus locaciones y su espíritu, bien podría ser calificado también como un western. 

Sbaraglia compone un rufián temible, pero con un logrado componente berreta y con este papel vuelve a demostrar no sólo que es uno de los mejores actores argentinos sino tal vez el más versátil. Es muy efectivo su contrapunto con el imperturbable (e impenetrable) personaje de Hendler, a quien nada de lo que sucede parece afectar. Se luce también Alian Devetac, como el joven Daniel, un personaje oscurísimo.

Cetarti (Daniel Hendler) arrives at a lost town in the Chaco to recognize the bodies of her mother and her brother recently murdered by her partner at the time. Duarte (Leonardo Sabaraglia), a retired NCO friend and executor of the murderer, is the one who summons Cetarti for that recognition and collect life insurance.

 

What follows is an increasingly black story, based on Carlos Busqued's novel Under this tremendous sun: Cetarti, unemployed and having severed ties with his family a long time ago, only seems interested in raising money. Duarte also tries to profit from the situation, but the plot also introduces us to his criminal activities, counting on the complicity of Daniel, the son of the deceased. 

The precision with which Israel Adrián Caetano paints the different settings and their characters and the dryness with which they develop and resolve the situations is remarkable. As it progresses, the story accumulates a strange mixture of calm, tension and violence, in such a way that this thriller, due to its locations and its spirit, could also be described as a western. 

Sbaraglia composes a fearsome ruffian, but with a successful cheap component and with this role he once again shows not only that he is one of the best Argentine actors but perhaps the most versatile. His counterpoint to the unflappable (and impenetrable) character of Hendler, whom nothing that happens seems to affect him, is very effective. Alian Devetac also shines, like young Daniel, a very dark character.
